Technology:
There can be some amount of anxiety or even fear when using “The Green Farmer” the first time. After you have done a season with OW spraying, you will be come and expert and gain confidence. We do recommend in the first season to split and assign a control area where regular pesticide is still would be in use. This will provide a clear picture and results for the spraying result or if repeated (little cost as only water in use) spraying needed.
Are you going fully the "Organic Way"?
Yes, it is possible to be 100% toxic free. The Green Farmer OW spraying is very useful against all mold, fungus type of diseases and some bacteria. Pests, bacteria can be controlled by natural herb oils. With 3-7% herb oilsolution usually is sufficient when spraying against a certain disease. We can provide a list of herb oils to be used against a particular disease or pests.
Technical information:
Size of unit: 15. 3/4"x 15. 3/4"x10" (40x40x25cm)
OW ppm range at nozzle: 2-8ppm adjustable
Weight: 26.5lb (12kg)
Power consumption: 110V 600W (230V units are available, please request)
The Ozonated Water (OW) Spraying:
Nozzle setting: medium to very fine droplets. The single and most important factor with OW spraying, the nozzle has to be kept not further than 2ft from the sprayed leafs or weeds. This is very important due to the OW enriched mist will start diluting in the air. Spraying it over 3ft raising the probability for high efficacy loss. Usual OW ppm range for sparying 3 - 6ppm.
Capacity:
We recommend the The Green Farmer to be used in
conjunction with any spraying unit with fluid consumption up to 6 gal/min. We
do manufacture larger units, please contact us for further details. In case the
sprayer is fuel operated, electricity will be needed. Using a small 110V/600W gas generator will solve this issue.
Small farm can range from a half-acre to 40 acres. The GF unit is usually used with 50ft spraying hose which will cover a sizable to be sprayed area.
Connect and use:
The GF unit is designed to be easily connected to any exisiting small farm 110V or 230V spraying system. 1/2" plumbing connections are provided, for easy O3 active OW or conventional pesticide use. Easy connect installation brackets are provided. For fuel engine type sprayers power needed to be supplied either via extension cable or by small power generator.
Major benefits of the use of OW for spraying:
1, Ozone is generated on-site at low concentrations and pressures, and then immediately used in the
treatment process. There are no issues about safe storage and handling.
2, As converting back to oxygen, it does not form recalcitrant hydrocarbons, as pesticides do.
3, No residues are left behind. Unlike chemical pesticides, ozonation does not require post-treatment washing to remove residues from food surfaces.
4, Because of ozone’s effective mechanism, pests cannot develop resistance to ozone.
5, When needed, ozone gas can be used to delay fruit ripening.
6, Ozone is not a carcinogen, can be used safely and easily for treating pests, microbes, and fungal growth in plants, food and beverage industries.
OW and O3 gas in farming: grain, fruits, vegetables, viticulture
In farming traditional pesticides have become unpopular in recent years because of their inherent risks. For example, mycotoxines in stored grains, copper fungicides, which are used to fight powdery mildew on grape vines, can produce foliage injury and toxicity. Ethyl mercaptan fungicides are effective for downy mildew, but they require a four-day re-entry warning after application. Mancozeb is the active agent in many other fungicides, but it cannot be applied for 66 days after harvest. All these chemical fungicides also have a reasonable chance of losing their effectiveness in coming years due to climate changes and increasing pest resistance.
